Parker Ranch plans boutique revival of Waimea’s Jacaranda Inn
Parker Ranch announced a partnership with Hawaiʻi-based investors, including developer Stanford Carr and longtime hotelier Jerry Gibson, to revitalize the former Jacaranda Inn property in Waimea as a boutique, Parker Ranch-branded hospitality experience.
The historic estate was once the home of A.W. Carter, who became Parker Ranch’s manager in 1899, and later a retreat for Laurance Rockefeller before becoming a restaurant and inn. Parker Ranch Foundation Trust reacquired the leasehold in 2021. The partners say they will protect Manaua, the sacred rain rock on the property, which stays with the trust and open to the community.
What to watch: No timeline or room count has been announced. The partners say the project will bring local jobs to Waimea.
