State approves $7.44 million for Ala Moana Beach Park sand
The state Board of Land and Natural Resources approved a $7.44 million funding agreement to help the City and County of Honolulu replenish sand at Ala Moana Regional Beach Park.
Ala Moana is one of Honolulu’s busiest beach parks, used daily by swimmers, paddlers and families.
What to watch: The city has not yet announced a construction schedule. Sand work usually closes sections of beach while it’s underway.
